The weather is quickly changing and we will soon need to discontinue giving coffee away at the Visitor Center location. October 19th and 20th we will not be serving coffee at the Visitor Center and beginning on Sunday October 23rd we will discontinue our temporary outdoor coffee station fully at the Visitor Center. We have enjoyed welcoming folks who have found their way to us at the Visitor Center and will continue to welcome everyone at our company store on 40 Foundry Street. Our Company store, as mentioned before, has extended their hours until the Visitor Center is up and running to seven days a week from 6:30am to 5:00pm. The easiest directions are; turn into TD Bank parking lot (Main Street), go to the back exit of the parking lot and our company store is directly across the street. I know that these directions are a bit odd, but they are much easier to understand than the computer generated ones.

We will continue with our updates as the work on the Visitor Center progresses.

All of us at the Visitor Center look forward to greeting you once again in our newly updated center once we return!

Well, it’s been a month now since our Visitor Center was flooded and things are progressing. It will still be a while before we are able to get back in, but rest assured, we will be back!

We have been welcoming folks who have found their way to our location with a warm, heartfelt greeting, information, and a hot cup of coffee. As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, we’re not sure how long we will be able to maintain our presence in the Park…..We will stay there as long as possible and if anything changes we will make sure that we update this site.

As for scheduled group tours, we are using an alternative location. We have had several groups through that location and although the space is not as picturesque as our Visitor Center, we have still been able to give folks a “show”. Everyone who has come through the alternate location has been very understanding and has left with a greater understanding of who we are as a company as well as what we do. I have enjoyed everyone who has come through thus far and look forward to the other groups yet to come.

Flooding is not gong to keep us down! In order for us to continue welcoming guests and sharing the Green Mountain Coffee story, we have set up two temporary locations; individual travellers and scheduled groups

From 8:30am to 4:30pm daily we have set up a booth in the park in front of our Visitor Center in downtown Waterbury. We’re offering a free cup of coffee as well as information about our company and our community. We will be showing a short introductory film of our business, showcasing our commitment to our product and the people that we work with, from “Tree to Cup”.

For our coach operators we have another location to welcome larger groups. Please contact us for more information as to what we have to offer, by calling 877-879-2326.

The town of Waterbury received extensive damage due to extreme flooding as a result of Irene. Our Visitor Center received a lot of damage to our core systems, resulting in the need to close the building. Our hope is that we will be back up and running in the next few weeks.

Our Company Store, located at 40 Foundry Street, did not receive any damage, therefore will remain open. The Company Store will extend their ours of operation to 6:30am to 5pm daily. These hours will stay in effect until the Visitor Center reopens.

Many people have been affected by this flooding. The community efforts to help our neighbors in need have been so impressive, I don’t really think that words can describe the out pour of support from so many. There isn’t a person in Waterbury that was not touched by this disaster, whether personally, through a family member or friend, or in helping with the clean up efforts. I’m proud to live in a community that is so quick to come to the aid of others.

Directions to the Company Store:

From Interstate 89 – South on rte. 100, Turn Left, onto Main Street, Turn Left at the traffic light onto Stowe Street, Turn Right onto Foundry Street (just before the dry bridge, after Stowe Street Emporium), Green Mountain Company Store is located on the right, just look for the Green Mountain Coffee awning.

Happy 4th, almost 4th of July! Waterbury has the tradition of celebrating Independence Day the Saturday before the actual 4th, which at times is celebrated in June…I’m not sure how it all started, but it works. We have a lot of folks find their way here to help our town celebrate, it’s a lot of fun. The parade starts at 11am, so if you’re coming to town, please note that Main Street will be closed. After the parade there is a carnival behind the state complex, rides for kids, bingo, fried dough, and a lot of great music. Fireworks will be held when it turns dark….

The Visitor Center does have shortened hours for Saturday, July 2nd and Monday, July 4th. The hours will be from 7am to 5pm. Sunday, we will be open our regular hours for this time of year, 7am-7pm. We hope to see you at some point during the holiday weekend.

p.s. Look for me in the parade…:)
